Much of Kauai, nicknamed the Garden Island, remains untouched by human development, yet it offers the ultimate vacation destination. You can enjoy horseback riding, deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, nature walks, golf, museums, parks, biking, camping, fishing, and kayaking.

There are several state parks to choose from including Na Pali Coast and State Park, Wailua River State Park, Anini Beach County Park, Polihale Beach Park, and Koke'e State Park. These parks offer water sports, sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, picnicking, and camping. Remember your film. You'll want to remember the sights you'll see on Kauai!

If you're a golfer, there are many golf courses to choose from, including Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses. Perhaps you'd rather enjoy the scenery by visiting one of the many gardens with trails of beautiful plants and exotic birds. Do you prefer camping? The Division of Parks and Recreation offers camping permits for several of the beach parks. Maybe you'd like to charter a boat and go deep-sea fishing. Various game fish are attracted to the Garden Island because the Pacific currents swirl around Kauai. You can fish for Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Yellow Fin Tina, Amberjack, Snapper, and many more.

Helicopter tours are also offered on Kauai. Morning flights offer the best visibility. Kayaking down one of Kauai's beautiful rivers is another way to see the island. Kauai also offers boat tours, and if you visit between the months of November and April, you may even see a Humpback whale.
